In order to improve its market position in the field of wood-based bioenergy, L&T Biowatti is renewing its organisation. The target is to implement a more cost-efficient and customer-oriented operative model.
Tomi Salo has been appointed Managing Director of L&T Biowatti starting December 1, 2009. Tomi Salo has previously held the position of Director of Forestry Services at L&T Biowatti. L&T Biowatti’s present Managing Director Kari Lahti will continue as a member of the Board of Directors.
-The fact that Finland has committed to significantly cut its greenhouse gas emissions will translate into numerous new opportunities on the bioenergy market. As wood-based bioenergy is becoming a significant growth source in the Finnish forestry value chain, we want to strengthen our position as a national bridge builder to balance the service needs of forest owners and energy producers. Therefore we will focus our resources to serve forest owners, says Tomi Salo, appointed Managing Director of L&T Biowatti starting December 1, 2009.
L&T Biowatti’s business operations in Finland will be split into business areas South Finland, East Finland and North Finland. Effective from December 1, 2009, the following Business Operations Managers have been appointed: Tomi Vartiamäki (South Finland), Mikko Heiskanen (East Finland) and Juha Fränti (North Finland). Starting December 1, 2009, Jari Terävä, Business Operations Manager, will assume the responsibility for L&T Biowatti’s international business operations.
In the future, L&T Biowatti’s forest raw material procurement, forestry services and service development will be the Forestry Manager’s responsibility. Pekka Moilanen has been appointed Forestry Manager starting December 1, 2009. Tomi Bremer, Logistics Manager, will be responsible for logistics and logistics development starting December 1, 2009.
